I felt like Felicity was the exact same, whiny, annoying and jealous character that she always was. I love the idea of this whole magic system. But it was still nice enough to make me want to read the last book in the series.! Rebel Angels is the second book in a fantasy trilogy by Libba Bray. Not all is well in the Realms-or out of them. This is the second book in Libba Bray's engrossing trilogy, set in a time of strict morality and barely repressed sensuality, about a girl who saw another way.
After Felicity's parents take in her orphaned cousin, Polly, as a ward, Felicity tells Polly to lock her doors and "not let Uncle in"; Gemma surmises that her friend was molested by her father as a little girl. It was magical, enchanting and truly captivating. Gemma's and Ann's love interests, meanwhile, libbaa mine the theme of Victorian class and society.
Gemma was much stronger in this book but she treated Kartik like trash. The worst for me was a scene where Ann was insulting herself and Felicity tells her to stop doing that to herself because how is anyone else ever going to accept Ann if she can't accept herself?

My take on it just as I was settling into the second book was "Picnic at Hanging Rock on acid. This book was okay. Amid the social whirl they continue to venture into the magical land of the realms, seeking to escape the strictures of their lives.
The opening chapter is narrated by Kartik, who has been brought before a council of the Rakshana. It takes place in upper-class London filled with gowns and gossip. The character growth is a little stagnant, but the learning the background of a character is very active.
